We two were cuddling with mom in the bedroom, It was eleven in the night. In the middle of all gossips somewhere in the mind fear stands alone. My sister pinched me and said, " If he come with a sandwich, let us make a mutual halves". Laughing at her, I turned to mom and said, "Im so hungry", with a pale face, so that she could have concern to give me a great share of the "Sandwich" which was not yet arrived.
After some time the clock striked eleven and thirty minutes. Now the fear which was standing alone somewhere in the mind took its central position. My mom was so worried and started to make a call. Yes, It was a call for my dad. It is him who buy sandwiches at night and bring home sharply at eleven. He would turned to the flat everyday by eleven in the night, but not that night. The receiver in the phone said that the line that you have tried to reach is not picking up the calls right now. Not once, but twice , thrice, and more than that the responses were the same.
My brother who was watching television in the living room, suddenly shouted at some one, asking "Anna! yeah come in ! where is Dad?" Soon after I heard this, I could recognize that it was the staff, who works in our Garments shop. After some little heated talks and collisions in the living room, I found my mom nowhere and its only me, my brother and my sister then.
Tears along with fear and eagerness rolled out of my eyes, searching for the reason for all that had just happened in that night and for my Dad too. later that night we three were sent to our aunt's house without any reason. Early in the morning my mom took me along with my brother and my sister to the hospital. Where I could see our Dad has been admitted as he had met with an accident in the previous night. I couldn't even find out the meaning of the word "accident " as I was only ten years old. All I could figure out is my Dad, who said with a smile ,"Dad had just rolled out in the steps and got hurt, my Dear!" Even though I couldn't guess the meaning for "accident" that time, I can realize the entire meaning of my Dad's smile, even in such a pain, which tried to hide the truth of the accident from me.
